SHINONOME ABYSS The Maiden Exorcist, you play as Yono, a shrine maiden who must escape haunted houses filled with yokai and vengeful spirits called Mononoke. Following her missing Onmyouji brother, Yono enters a terrifying mansion where she must survive changing rooms and traps using her courage and resourcefulness. Listen for the clues to the Mononoke itself within the room and use your environment, ie; fireplaces & broken floors to your advantage.
Yono has a hidden strength that is unlocked when she is in great danger. This new power is essential to defeating the Mononoke but you will need to anticipate and control her transformation to use it effectively. The mansion features three modes: Harai, with fixed maps and specific puzzles; Misogi, where you escape randomly generated maps in a casual setting; and Gyou, which offers hardcore, survival-focused gameplay.
This one brings more Mononoke, more traps, more items, and more dungeons than the last Shinonome game. They can also add a key boss to the mix and have iterated on gameplay with feedback from users to help polish the experience. Kenichi Iwao, who worked on Resident Evil and Parasite Eve 2, will direct the game, while Tatsuya Yoshikawa, known for designing Devil May Cry’s main character, will handle character design.
